Congratulations to our very own Coach Brian Erwin!

It was announced that Bryan Erwin, head football coach Marcus High School, was named the U.S. Army/Dallas Cowboys Coach of the Week for the high level of service he brings to his team, school and community through hard work and dedication to young athletes. In recognition of Coach Erwin's award, the Marcus High School football program will receive a $2000 grant provided by the U.S. Army and Gene and Jerry Jones Family Charities.

In Week Eight of high school football, Coach Erwin and his team held off a second-half rally by Coppell to finish victorious 31-26. Up 31-7 late in the fourth quarter, Marcus let Coppell narrow the margin to a five point deficit. The Marauders constructed a 77-yard drive, in the last minutes of the game to run the clock down and claim the hard fought victory over the Cowboys. Marcus (4-4) faces cross town rival Flower Mound (6-2) this Friday, October 31 at Texas Stadium.

"The Army is dedicated to building a strong future and for his contributions to the success of America's youth, Coach Erwin is a great recipient for this week's award," said Lt. Col. Ronnie J. Williamson, U.S. Army Recruiting Battalion-Dallas commander. "Coach Erwin's and Marcus High School's performance was truly Army Strong."

Fundraising

Hello everyone,

Our raffle ticket drawing will be this Friday during halftime of our game against Hebron. For anyone who has checked out tickets, please plan on dropping off the stubs and money to me this Wednesday night (Nov. 5th) between 7 and 7:30 p.m. I am still awaiting confirmation of the location but hopefully it will be in the MHS cafeteria or library and I will send out another email once I am certain of the location. If this time is not convenient for you please call or email me.

My name is Danielle Bergren, and I have been heading up the Coaches Sunday Dinners this season.  I have a great group of volunteers, however, I am in the need of more cooks and participants for the last few dinners that we are going to be serving our awesome coaching staff!!  If you would like to join the volunteer distribution list, please email me your name, phone number and email address. 

 *We feed the coaches every Sunday night at 5:00pm, throughout the season.   There is something for everyone-  If you are not a cook, no problem, we always need paper products, sodas and non-cooked items brought in as well!!
